I bought and have used the 1120 for about 10 years. Always ran quiet until now. It is quiet when in the hay but there is a hammering noise and vibration that is sent down the driveline back to tractor causing the PTO in the tractor to rattle or hammer. New UV joints on all driveline shafts, front shaft is 2 years old with CV joint. There is a little slack in the slip tube on upper PTO shaft that runs gear box but very little, and very little backlash in the gearbox. All of the sickle drive seems to be tight and the rollers are timed with proper clearance. Put old PTO hookup shaft on and it does the same thing. Should not be the tractor as it is the same tracor I run square baler with and it runs quiet. Any help will be greatly appreciated. THANKS |

I have mine torn down awaiting parts now. The bearings were dry and the sleeve inserts were worn on the eccentric arm. Lots of clatter, then wire grass snapped the head off the cutter bar and the pitman/flywheel broke as a result. A new flywheel is almost nonexistant and over $600 if it can be found, my dealer could only find one in the whole USA. Fix yours before this happens to you. | [Log in to Reply][No Email] |

by Gary Teate. My father was a simple man but could repair just about anythin mechanical that was ever made. From the time I was a young boy growing up in Jacksonville, Florida, I would spend a considerable amount of time helping my father repair or rebuild equipment and engines, etc. on our 2 1/2 acre 'spread'.
